KVRA off Thursday NASCAR Night II program at PIR

PADUCAH, Ky. -- KVRA's vintage coupes and sedans, originally scheduled as part of the NASCAR Night II program at Paducah International Raceway, will not participate in the Thursday night program.

KVRA president and founder Mark Moore learned of that development Friday night at the 3/8-mile track, where the series was in action for the eighth time this year.

That means the next race for the series will be Saturday night, Aug. 1, at Clarksville (Tenn.) Speedway.

Moore hopes to finalize scheduling of a race tentatively slated for Friday, Oct. 9, at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Ala.

North Alabama Speedway will be a new venue for KVRA. Doug McKleroy is the promoter of the 3/8-mile banked dirt oval in the northwest corner of Alabama. The race would give drivers a chance to compete twice in that area, with an Oct. 10 visit to Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, Tenn., already on the schedule.
