MURRAY, Ky. -- Ed Adams, a veteran engine builder and machinist who serves as KVRA technical inspector and is a part-time driver, was injured in a motorcycle accident Monday night.

KVRA president and founder Mark Moore said a dog ran in front of Adams' Harley-Davidson, causing him to crash.

Adams landed on his shoulder, resulting in a fractured scapula (shoulder blade). He was kept overnight at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah for observation.

"We ask all KVRA members to keep Ed in their prayers," Moore said.

ยง        On a positive personal note, Matt Moore, son of the KVRA president, celebrates his 21st birthday today. Matt drives the No. 37, a 1937 Pontiac coupe, in vintage competition.
