CAMDEN, Tenn. - Friday night's racing program at Camden Motor Speedway was rained out, the second time this year that a KVRA event has been called off because of rain at the 3/8-mile clay oval.
Kentucky Vintage Racing Association competitors were either on hand already or en route to the track Friday when a thunderstorm soaked the facility and rendered the track and pit area unsuitable for racing.
Mark Moore led from flag to flag to win April 17 in the second race of the 2009 season. The second of six events originally scheduled at CMS was washed out May 8. The series suffered another rainout, on May 2 at Paducah (Ky.) International Raceway.
The vintage coupes and sedans are scheduled to return to the track July 17, Aug. 14 and Sept. 11.
KVRA will be idle during the Fourth of July weekend. The next race on the schedule is Friday, July 10, at Paducah, followed by a Saturday, July 11, date at Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, Tenn.
