Notebook: Race No. 10, Clarksville Speedway

KVRA RACERS compete tonight for the fourth time this season at William Scogin's ¼-mile Clarksville Speedway. Five different drivers have won features this year, but one of them - Henderson, Ky.'s Dave Davidson - has been to victory lane four times. Mark Moore, Brian Steele, Josh Throgmorton and Jason Bailey each have a single victory. ...

Davidson, who drives a maroon and white 1933 Plymouth sedan carrying the number 16, has won two of the three features at Clarksville this year, with Steele taking the other victory. Davidson has a two-race winning streak, with victories at Western Kentucky Speedway in Nebo, Ky., on May 16 and at Paducah (Ky.) International Raceway on May 29. Consequently, he will start in the rear of tonight's feature under a series rule that handicaps drivers who win consecutive features. ...

Davidson did not compete last Saturday night in the KVRA event at Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, Tenn. Bailey, of Athens, Ala., was the winner of that event. He will not be in the lineup tonight at Clarksville. ...

Steele, of Sturgis, Ky., won his first KVRA feature April 25 at Clarksville. He and Weaver Racing teammate Josh Throgmorton are unconfirmed entries tonight. ...

Mike Moore, brother of KVRA president Mark Moore, is back in action after missing the start of the 2009 season. Moore has been working in a coal mining operation in Colombia, South America, and is back in his Newburgh, Ind., home. His No. C7, a white 1934 Ford sedan, was seriously damaged May 15 at Paducah, but the car has been repaired and will be in the lineup tonight. ...

We thank Clarksville Speedway for having us as a part of many of its racing programs. We're proud to be part of the show at one of the South's finest racing facilities. KVRA competitors also offer thanks to America's military, including the soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, on this 65th anniversary of the June 6, 1944, invasion of France, in which the 101st's "Screaming Eagles" played a key role.
