PADUCAH, Ky. - Dave Davidson led from start to finish to win the Kentucky Vintage Racing Association feature Friday night at Paducah International Raceway.

It was the fifth KVRA win of the season for Davidson, of Henderson, Ky., and his second in a row.

Counting an unsanctioned race May 23 at Soggy Bottom Raceway in Morgantown, Ky., it was the sixth win in eight races this year for Davidson and the quick No. 16 1933 Plymouth sedan.

Josh Throgmorton, who won in the series' last appearance at the 3/8-mile PIR oval May 15, finished second and Weaver Racing teammate Brian Steele was third. Chad Fritsche was fourth and Mark Moore rounded out the top five.

KVRA competitors return to action tonight at Paducah International Raceway.

Thanks to two straight rainy weekends and no races scheduled during the Memorial Day holiday weekend, tonight's race will be only the fourth of the month of May for KVRA competitors. It's the third event of the season for the vintage coupes and sedans at the 3/8-mile high-banked Paducah International Raceway oval. ...

NEBO, Ky. - Odds are that Dave Davidson wins the odd-numbered races on the KVRA schedule this year. So far, Davidson is four-for-four.

The Henderson, Ky., driver claimed his fourth victory of 2009 Saturday night with a dusty cruise at Western Kentucky Speedway. He won the season opener at Paducah, and has won the third, fifth and, now, seventh races.

He led from green to checkered in his No. 16 1933 Plymouth sedan, but Mark Moore nipped at his heels most of the way before settling for second by a half car length.

PADUCAH, Ky. - Josh Throgmorton was in front when a violent crash by the fifth-place car of Mike Moore at the beginning of the 11th lap brought out the red flag on the scheduled 12-lap Kentucky Vintage Racing Association feature at Paducah International Raceway Friday night.

The finish was recorded based on the 10th lap, with Dave Davidson second, Mark Moore third, Chad Fritsche fifth and Mike Moore credited with fifth. The Moores are brothers.

BACK TO THE FUTURE: KVRA returns tonight to the site of the first race in the history of the series, April 21, 2007. Bryan Rupe was the winner that night, in the Moore Motorsports No. 31 1937 Pontiac coupe. ...

Tonight's program is the second of a two-race weekend for KVRA, which was at Paducah International Raceway last night. Josh Throgmorton of Providence, Ky., won the feature, which was red-flagged after completion of 10 of 12 scheduled laps because of a violent rollover crash by Mike Moore of Newburgh, Ind. Coincidentally, the KVRA event at Western Kentucky Speedway on April 26, 2008, had a similar conclusion because of a violent crash suffered by Moore's son, Mike Moore Jr., and Bryan White. ...

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Dave Davidson led from flag to flag to take the Kentucky Vintage Racing Association feature Saturday night at Clarksville Speedway.

It was the second victory at the ΒΌ-mile clay oval in two weeks for Davidson, of Henderson, Ky.

The win was the third of the season and the 10th of his KVRA career for Davidson. He also won the 2009 season opener at Paducah (Ky.) International Raceway April 3. His maroon and white No. 16. a 1933 Plymouth sedan-bodied machine, has been strong all season

MURRAY, Ky. - The Friday night program at Camden (Tenn.) Motor Speedway was canceled because of rain, the third straight rainout for a Kentucky Vintage Racing Association event.

A Friday-Saturday doubleheader May 1-2 at Paducah (Ky.) International Raceway was also a casualty of weather. As of Friday afternoon, Saturday's race at Clarksville (Tenn.) Speedway had not been canceled.

KVRA president and founder Mark Moore said last weekend's extra date would not be made up. Paducah will run Thursday and Friday, May 14-15, but the vintage stocks will compete only on the Friday night program, which was originally on their schedule.

KVRA is at Western Kentucky Speedway in Nebo on Saturday  night, May 16.

MURRAY, Ky. - The Kentucky Vintage Racing Association will return to Clarksville (Tenn.) Speedway this Saturday night.

KVRA president and founder Mark Moore said five races tentatively scheduled at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, Tenn., including one provisionally slated for this Saturday, have been temporarily removed from the schedule.

PADUCAH, Ky. - A two-night program of racing at Paducah International Raceway that was to include the Kentucky Vintage Racing Association coupes and sedans was rained out.

KVRA and other classes were scheduled to share the Friday night card with a $3,000-to-win UMP Late Model feature and Saturday night's special Lucas Oil Series event, with a $10,000 prize offered to the late model feature winner.

The Paducah track has rescheduled the UMP-Lucas doubleheader for Thursday and Friday, May 14-15. KVRA was already scheduled to compete in the May 15 program. It has not been determined whether the vintage series will be included in the Thursday night makeup.
