MURRAY, Ky. -- The third season of competition for Kentucky Vintage Racing Association will open April 3 at Paducah (Ky.) International Raceway.

The KVRA opener will be part of the track's second event of the 2009 season. The evening will also feature regular Late Models, Modifieds, Pro Late Models, Street Stocks, and 4 Cylinder Warriors, all running under sanction of United Midwest Promoters (UMP).

It's the second year in a row KVRA has kicked off its season at Paducah. Mike Moore won last year's season opener.

In all, 14 Friday-night appearances at PIR are scheduled. KVRA competed nine times at the high-banked 3/8 mile PIR in 2008.

Four races have already been confirmed at Clarksville (Tenn.) Stormpay.com Speedway and one race has been set at Duck River Speedway in Wheel, Tenn.

Other races are tentatively planned at Clayhill Motorsports (Atwood, Tenn.); Camden (Tenn.) Speedway; Thunderhill Raceway (Summertown, Tenn.); and other tracks.

Other events will be added to the schedule as they are confirmed.
